Sukhumvit
You can’t speak of the nightlife in Bangkok without mentioning Sukhumvit, which has a few of the city’s best entertainment and popular hotels.
Most of the venues mentioned here are foreigner oriented, especially the adult themed go go bars of Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy near Asoke.
Both Nana and Soi Cowboy are considered the major nightlife red light areas of Bangkok.
Nana Plaza: A huge complex consisting of many go go bars, and a handful of girlie bars in and around the area. The Nana area is also one of the popular places for freelancers in Bangkok.
Asoke: location is around Sukhumvit and Asoke(one of the cities main intersections). Here is where you will find the famous red light district of Soi Cowboy. Around here there are massage shops, and some more gogo bars. Soi Cowboy is located between Soi 21 and Soi 23.
Phrom Phong: As you proceed further east you will see the area known as Phrom Phong. It has many massage shops, restaurants.
Thonglor: Is the hip and trendy nightlife area frequented by the city’s hi-so crowds. Also has a few well known rooftop and cocktail bars. The options also include live music, and some of the best nightclubs in all of Bangkok.
RCA (Royal City Avenue)

If you are looking to party in some of Bangkok’s best nightclubs then look no further than RCA.
Also known as Royal City Avenue, this place offers some serious entertainment.
It is easily one of the best party spots in Bangkok, attracting the hip local crowds, and all sorts of international foreigners from all over the world.
The nightclubs are well designed, have great sound systems, and serve some of the cities best drinks.
The prices for entrance and drinks are moderate. You won’t find the cheapest drinks here, but they are still more affordable than the expensive rooftop bars.
The great thing about RCA is the crowd that it attracts. Expect higher class Thai people, and it is somewhat more upscale than most venues around Sukhumvit.
Most clubs have a dress code, which typically means no shorts and flip flops are allowed.
Khao San Road

Khaosan Road might be the most popular tourist location in all of Bangkok. And the reason is simple, this street has many bars, restaurants, food stalls, and nightclubs.
It is extremely popular among the young Thai girls, and young foreigners.
Everyone knows Khaosan as it is always noted as one of the “must see” places in the city. Generally, first time visitors to Bangkok love this place.
You will not find many “hi-so” types of people here (both local Thais, and foreigners).
Typically you will find the backpacker types, families, couples, and the younger Thai girls that come to party with the foreigners.
And to me this can be a great thing. When you feel like the Khaosan vibe you can go there and experience the unique nightlife in that area.
Ratchada Rot Fai Night “Train” Market
You would be surprised, but even some local Thai’s don’t know about this place.
And they should.
It is one of the best areas to spend your evening in. And it gets busy, especially on the weekend. It is located just off the MRT Thailand Cultural Center.
The name train market became to be due to the history behind the location.
It used to be a train station, which was transformed into what it is today: a night market which has many food vendors showcasing there amazing food creations.
It is a huge night market, full of food vendors, shops, and bars. The food here is amazing, and has so much variety. It is also very reasonably prices.
The bars serve amazing cocktails, beers, and more.
The local Thais love to enjoy the Bangkok nightlife. They come here after work, or on the weekend with their friends. They order drinks, listen to music, and enjoy the fun nightlife scenes.
