Pattaya has arguably the most bar girls of any city in Thailand. The city is a playground not only for foreigners, but the many ladies that come here to work in hopes of making some money from the huge bar industry in Pattaya.

In this guide I wanted to give you the full info on the Pattaya bar girls, including the different types, their attitudes, prices, and how to increase your chances of getting the preferred “girlfriend experience” (GFE).

Beer Bar Girls

These women who work in the beer bars are typically of a lower standard than what you would find in the go go bars, and they know it. Their ages ranges are from 25 years old to 40 years old, with many of them being over 30. The exception to this is the girls from the Soi 6 bars, which are much younger than what you would find in the majority of the other beer bars areas in Pattaya.

In most cases, the girls that work in these beer bars can’t work in the top tier go go bars, since they aren’t as attractive, slim, or young enough. This has some good and bad points.

The good points is that they can be taken out for much cheaper than the the go go bar girls, and they generally give better performances, since they understand they may not get bar fined as often.

The bad points is that you will have a harder time finding one that is really attractive and young. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that it is impossible. I am just saying that you will have to do some more searching in order to find one that is close to a go go girl in Pattaya.

Go Go Bar Girls

The go go bar girls are one level up from the beer bar girls, and they know it! These ladies know there worth. They understand that they are more attractive and younger than other women working in the bar industry in Pattaya, or freelancing in the nightclubs on Walking Street.

So naturally, the drawbacks to this is that go go bar girls will charge you more for taking them out, and you also have to spend extra on lady drinks and bar fines. Another thing about these girls is that they are more picky and choosy who they go with, since they also make decent money on lady drinks and salary.

It is not uncommon for some guys to get turned down at the go go bars. That is also one reason why some guys just end up using the the soapy massage parlors to find an attractive and young Thai girl, rather then spending too much time searching for bar girls in the nightlife areas of the city.

The good thing is that most of these go go bar dancers are super attractive, young, slim, and lighter skinned (preferred by most Asian clientele). But lets get real, the money is one of the biggest factors when it comes to choosing the right bar girl to take out. So here is what to expect:

Beer Bar Girls in Pattaya will cost around 500 – 600 Baht for bar fines, and another 1000 – 1500 Baht for ST. For long time it will be from 1500 Baht to 2,500 Baht. Keep in mind that lady drinks will cost around 110 – 120 Baht at most beer bars.

Go go bar girls will have a barfine between 800 – 1,000 Baht at most places. It will cost around 2,000 – 3,000 Baht for ST, and from 3,000 – 5,000 Baht for long time. Lady drinks will cost anywhere around 145 – 160 Baht depending on the bar.

At both types of bars, the attractive and younger girls will expect the higher end of the prices I mentioned.

The Girlfriend Experience

One of the main things that most guys desire in Pattaya, especially when they take out a bar girl is to get the “girlfriend experience” (GFE) from them. This just means that rather then being so professional and business minded, the bar girl will treat the customer as if he was her boyfriend for the time they spend togther. in most cases this usually means:

• less time she is on her phone, and more attention on you
• better performance and attitudes in the bedroom
• will not rush the service, less “starfish” performance
• willing to spend more days with you

Keep in mind that every guy has his own standards about the GFE, but those things I mentioned are definitely some of the main complains I hear from most guys in Pattaya.

The truth is that getting the GFE is getting harder and harder these days, as these girls that work in the bars in Pattaya are mainly concerned about making the quick money, rather than building good connections with customers for repeat barfines.

That being said, there are still some things that can increase your chances of getting the best treatment from them. Here are some tips to keep in mind when you select a girl to bar fine. Make sure to select a bar girl that:

• Makes an effort to smile or get your attention in the bar
• Is willing to have some conversations with you and get to know you
• Does not look so serious or professional
• Is not constantly asking for lady drinks

Generally speaking, it will be hard to avoid all those things, but try to see the red flags with bar girls before taking them out. The best advice is to use your own gut instinct. If it feels like she is rushing you, or you can tell she won’t give a bit of GFE, then it may better to find another girl in the bar.

On the other hand, if you feel that you are vibing with her, and she is making some effort on her behalf, then it is a good sign it will be money well spent to go with her.

Negotiating Tips

Of course if you want to spend more time with her then you will need to negotiate for a price, which does not include the barfine.

A good advice is to first see how you are vibing with her before even asking her the price. Chances are that she will actually ask you if you want to take her out. And in my experience, this is a good sign. Once she is making an effort to know you, or is becoming comfortable with you, is the best time to start talking about the price.

A simple tip is to just play it cool, enjoy yourself in the bar, and just ask her what she expects if she comes back with you. If she gives you a high price do not act so surprised or that it affected you.

Just keep the conversation going and tell her what price you would like to give her. If she does not budge from her price point that can sometimes be a red flag. Because if she really felt comfortable with you she should be willing to make a deal with you.

At that point it is really up to you what you want to do. If you really like her then just simply agree to her price and take her. If you don’t think it will be a good choice then just don’t agree to take her for her price. But whatever you do, just keep your cool and keep enjoying yourself in the bar. Having fun in the bar is the main thing that these bar girls in Pattaya get drawn to.

Yes, it can be pricey. But keep in mind that the higher prices are for the top tier girls.

Honey 2 Body Massage

A very popular massage parlor in Pattaya. The Honey 2 building is also one of the newer buildings in this area. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have a modern feel to them.

Of course the girls are the main features of this place, and you will find a huge selection to choose from here. Many of women here are super attractive, and you will always eventually find the right masseuse for you.

Service is also great, most of the girls here do make an effort to give you a decent massage along with the extra services.

They way it works is that you walk in to the parlor, and take seat at one of the comfortable couches. Then you could order a nice cold drink, and take your time to select which lady you would like to get the service from.

Hands down, one of the best value guest friendly hotels in Pattaya. The only issue with J.P. Villa is the location, which is in North Pattaya. Due to the quiet location, you can expect a great nights sleep, and the over all vibe of this hotel is very relaxing. It almost feels like a resort. The rooms are spacious and very clean. But keep in mind that some people prefer a quite location. If that is you, then seriously consider this place.

The prices for drinks in some of the bars and clubs are now almost the same, if not more than your own city back home, which has made some guys think twice about how long they stay here.

The less customers in the bars and streets, the less money all the girls in Pattaya can make. So thankfully, the freelance scene in Pattaya is still going strong, and even seems to be thriving more than ever.

Some of you may not even know about Angeles yet, since it used to be one of those places that only expats and the “experienced” travelers dared to venture out into.

This comparison of Angeles and Pattaya is a great one, since they are very popular among male travelers, and also quite similar in what they can offer to them.

Nightlife Vibe

Pattaya’s nightlife is more balanced than Angeles.

Not only is the city bigger than its counterpart, but it also has more things to do. There are many streets and alleys to explore in Pattaya, with various bars, nightclubs, massage shops everywhere. Most of which specifically caters to the male travelers. But keep in mind, the scene in Pattaya caters to all types of tourists. So you will be seeing many couples, families, along with other single male foreigners.

Angeles City’s nightlife is more catered specifically to the male tourists. You will barely see any families or foreign couples in the party districts. And the size of the area is not that big.

Besides Walking Street and the surround area of Fields Avenue and “Perimeter”, you will not find more nightlife activities that are catered to foreigners.

But the great thing about Angeles city is that everything is more condensed into one area, which can add to the excitement and entertainment. This can also be a good thing if you prefer most things to be close walking distance.

Girls

Of course this depends on your preference. If you like the appearance of Thai girls then you may prefer that city better. Just keep in mind that the average age of girls that work in the Pattaya bars are higher than in Angeles city.

Generally, it appears that there are more younger girls around in Angeles City than Pattaya.

Angeles city has many girls that are in the 20-25 age range, especially in terms of freelancers. Furthermore, they are able to speak English. So for most guys this alone is a deal breaker, and is exactly why they specifically visit Angeles city over Pattaya.

The prices for (almost) everything will be cheaper in Angeles.

Even the best go go bars on (Fields) Walking Street will be about 30% cheaper when you factor in the conversion rates. Things such as drinks, lady drinks, food will be more affordable in that city.

Even though prices have gone up the past few year, it is still the more affordable option — which is why many guys would rather spend their holiday there.

Pattaya has great value in the following things:

• street food
• great hotels for very reasonable prices
• online freelancers (I use this site for great results)

That being said, your money will still go farther in Angeles City.

Go Go Bars

Pattaya is famous for its go go bars, there are many of them.

Most will be around Walking Street, but there are even more bars scattered around the city — such as the Soi LK Metro area.

Angeles does not seem to have as many go go bars as Pattaya, but it does have many of them concentrated in a relatively smaller area. So it will seem like it has a lot.

When you include the fact that many of the smaller girly bars further along Fields are also smaller go go bars, it may even appear to be on par with Pattaya’s. But it just appears that way because the city is much smaller.

Beer Bars

As mentioned above, Angeles City does not really have the “traditional” beer bars that Pattaya is so famous for. The bars in AC are really go go bars, with girls dancing on a stage (even if it’s a small one). The girly bars further on (Perimeter) Fields Avenue seem like a smaller version of go go bars. In my opinion they are great and very fun, just don’t expect them to be the open-air style bars.

If you are looking for the open air bars, then you will find those bars in Pattaya. Also, many of the beer bars in that city have pool tables, T.V’s showing sporting events or YouTube music videos. You could even do some people watching as you relax and have a beer. Almost all the girly bars in Angeles are indoors, with no views to the outside.

Massage Parlors

Pattaya is a very good place for the massage experience — for all types of services. From the best soapy massage parlors, to the smaller massage shops scattered almost all over the city. The place is almost endless with these types of services.

Angeles does not have the fishbowl type soapy massage parlors, and it has very few of the happy ending style ones as well.

The massage shops are not on par with Pattaya’s — in terms of quality and quantity of girls. But it does have a few options for regular massages, and extras, but nothing like you would see in Pattaya.

Daytime Activities

As mentioned before, Angeles city seems to be specifically catered for single male tourist who want to enjoy the P4P scene. The city does not have much else to do during the day other than Shopping at SM Mall, hanging out at your hotel pool, or just exploring some local parks and businesses.

It simply does not have the same type of tourist appeal as Pattaya does.

However, it must be said now, Angeles does feel a bit more “private”. Almost all the tourists there will single gentlemen just looking for the perfect men’s holiday — in privacy. Most of the local folks there will know exactly what you are in town for, so everyone is familiar with that type of niche tourist. For most guys that can be a comforting thing.

Pattaya has many other activities other than the nightlife and bar scene. Here are some daytime activities there:

• Buddhist Temples
• Beaches and Islands
• Shopping & Food Markets

Pattaya is just more “touristy”. You can decide for yourself if that is something you prefer, or if you don’t care for those things.

Hotels

Pattaya has so many guest friendly hotels around (source), it is really great in this regard. And the great thing is that the prices are really good, especially if you find a good deal — either online or during the low season. You can always find mid-quality hotels for great prices there. Also, it is not hard finding a hotel in Pattaya that has a decent outdoor pool and fitness facilities.

Angeles city has many guest friendly hotels, and you will eventually find ones with decent value for what you pay. However, that city does not have the same amount of options and standards as Pattaya. Remember, Pattaya is has been built more suitable for international tourism standards.

Angeles City does have its fair share of very high quality hotels like the amazing ABC hotel, and a handful of others. And these luxury hotels will be much cheaper than what you would pay back home for a similar room and facilities.

But here’s the things, even those types of hotels are too expensive for what most guys are willing to pay in a city of that standards. The bottom line is that there isn’t much value to be found in the hotels in Angeles. Yes, there can be some decent deals around, but just expect to be paying more for the hotels that have facilities such as outdoor swimming pools or rooms with nice views to the outside.

Safety

In my opinion, Angeles City feels less safe than Pattaya, especially once you venture out of the tourist areas at night.

Street crime can be very common in the Philippines (source). But to be fair, the president of the Philippines has done a good job of fighting the gang related street crime and drug activity.

The Philippines is now much safer than it used to be, especially in the tourist areas.

But I must be honest and say that there is more poverty in Angeles City, and you will see many street kids and even encounter some pick-pockets as you roam the streets. There are times in Angeles City where you may not feel fully safe, especially if you are traveling alone.

Generally speaking, the Philippines is not one of those types of places where you can just let your guard down, and not be aware of your surroundings. To feel safe, you need to be more cautious of your actions, and also of your surroundings. As long as you be smart about it, and not start trouble, you will feel safe.

But let me be clear, Pattaya is not fully safe either. It’s just that there is less street crime in Pattaya, and less overt poverty as compared to Angeles. However, Pattaya does feel safer than Angeles. I have never felt direct danger in Thailand, even if walking alone late at night outside the tourist areas.

But keep in mind that the entire tourist area of Angeles City was original designed for foreigners, so the police do their best to keep the place safe. So don’t be worried too much about it, the tourist area of the city is considered safe. But I wanted to give you guys a clear understanding of the place so you can be safe when you travel there.

Food

Finally, lets talk about food options in both cities.

If you like Thai Food, you will love Pattaya. The place has so many food choices, its amazing. From Thai Food, to seafood, to European and American Pub food. The place has it all. It also has many of the famous restaurant chains like Subway, McDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks. The list goes on and on.

The great thing is that food can be cheap in Pattaya. Some of those street food vendors offer some tasty meals for great prices. And if you want higher quality restaurants and fine dining it also has that too.

Angeles City has plenty of food options. It has well-known international fast food chains, and also some Australian, English and American Pub food.

And lets not forget about Jollibee, the famous Filipino fast food restaurant, serving fried chicken, pasta, and some more tasty items. You will never go hungry in Angeles.

But, Angeles does not have as much choices as Pattaya does. In other words, Pattaya wins in the food department, and in my personal opinion, has more healthy food choices

The nightclubs in Pattaya are some of the best in all of Thailand. And if you are coming to this city to party, you’d be best to check out some of the amazing nightclubs in Walking street.

The great thing is that the clubs play a wide variety of music. From EDM, to Hip Hop, and also Live bands. It doesn’t matter what kind of party you are looking for, you will always find a great disco to dance the night away in Pattaya.

The Vibe Of Nightclubs in Pattaya

Pattaya attracts a wide variety of tourists. This makes the scene here quite exciting.

This city is a huge tourist hot spot. This means that you will see all types of foreigners there, and most of the places I list here will be quite busy every night (especially during the high season).

So no matter which venue you choose, you will usually find a lively crowd, with a good mix of people. A good portion of these party goers will be single gentlemen who specifically come to Thailand to party with the girls in Pattaya.

So it must be mentioned that these nightclubs will have both freelancers, and normal girls. Which is why I have also noted the percentage of freelancers that you should expect in each venue.

If you want to avoid the clubs with the freelancers, then just look at the clubs with lowest percentage of them. I understand that sometimes you might just want to go to a “normal” nightclub and not have that type of stuff in your face.

The best nightclubs are located on Pattaya’s famous Walking Street. So most of the freelancers and dancers from the nearby bars tend to visit these clubs, especially as the night progresses.

Around 12 AM is the best time to visit these nightclubs.

At that time you can start to have a few drinks and it won’t be fully busy yet. It is around 1 AM when most places will start to get busy, and the party vibe starts to kick it.

A good strategy is to get there just before that time, and “feel” out the vibe, If you like it, then stay. It gives you enough time to hit up another nearby nightclub if you feel that it is not happening for you.

Most of them close around 4 AM. However there are a couple “after-hours” clubs that stay open past that time. Keep in mind that you may want to stay in a hotel near Walking Street to make it more convenient for yourself.

The thing about the nightclubs on walking street is that they have different vibes to them. If you want the big room clubs with international DJs it has that. Or maybe you prefer a more intimate setting, it has that too.

Mixx Disco

One of more fancier nightclubs on Walking Street, If you want a more upscale experience then this is probably the place for you.

The clubs actually has sections, one is called Crystal Palace (EDM and Trance music), and the other one is Rouge Club (hip-hop and R&B music).

Another thing to know is that this place attracts a fair share of Russian chicks (most of the freelancers). So you get a nice mix of Thai girls and Russian girls.

• Location: Walking Street (Bali Hai Plaza)
• Crowd: Foreigners, Russians, Thais, freelancers / working girls (15%)

Lucifer Disco

This place is almost like an institution in Pattaya.

And although it is one of the older nightclubs, it is still one of the best places to party in Pattaya.

There are also two sections here. The entrance area has its own room, which plays top 40 and Pop music. And the inside room plays mostly EDM with some Hip Hop mixed in for good measure.

The crowd inside gets lively, and a good portion of the women here are freelancers working and looking to meet some foreigners.

It is not a big place, so once it gets busy (around midnight) you can expect to have a great time.

• Crowd: Foreign men, Thai women, freelancers / working girls (60%)

Insomnia

A popular nightclub in Pattaya.

The place has an an intimate vibe, top of the line sound system, and the lighting effects are pretty good too. Just like some of the other nightclubs I mentioned here, Insomnia has two sections.

The lower floor is called iBar, and the upper floor is called iClub (Insomnia).

The ground floor has an interesting vibe, it is both club, and something like a bar with great view into Pattaya Bay. There are also a few pool tables.

The top floor is a pure nightclub, where most of the dancing happens, while the DJ’s pump out some crazy EDM with some hip-hop in the mix.

A favorite club for tourists, and young local Thai women. But you do also get a few foreign girls, or couples that come to party here on any given night. But a good majority of the girls will be either looking to find customers, or simply party with foreigners.

• Location: Midway point of Walking Street
• Crowd: Foreign men, few couples, majority of freelancers and working girls (60%)

Candyshop & Club 808

This place has now become one of the best partying options in all of Pattaya.

The Candyshop is on the lower floor. It has an outdoor seating (great for people watching), and a inside area with a main bar where live bands play (and DJ).

But the main event is upstairs at club 808.

Once the downstairs party starts to finish (around 2 AM), club 808 comes alive and becomes one of Pattaya’s best hip-hop clubs.

DJs play some heart throbbing tracks that make you want to dance with the many local Thai girls who come here to party. The majority of them are freelancers or bar girls from the beer bars in Pattaya who want to go clubbing after their shift.

• Location: Walking Street, South Pattaya
• Crowd: Local Thai women, Foreign men, few couples. Freelancers and working girls (70% at 808)

The Pier

A fairly large nightclub. It has excellent design, with a high-class feel to it. The premium sound system and lighting effects add to the effect on the senses.

The events are pretty good as well, with international DJ’s playing some amazing trance music.

You will also find some attractive coyote dancers around, enticing the and motivating the party-goers.

Most of the club has stools and tables around, making it perfect to some with a date. But don’t let that stop you, if you are solo you can still have a great time since there are many other single women in there to party too.

• Crowd: A fair amount of Thais, some foreign men, freelancers and working girls (20%)

Gullivers

Also called the “red car club”. It got that name from the red Cadillac car that is hoisted up against the wall by the front entrance.

This place is versatile. It is something like a bar and nightclub mixed into one.

There are few pool tables around by the entrance, and dance floor and DJ area a bit farther into the back.

Although it is not my favorite nightclub in Pattaya, I must admit that I have had some cool times here.

The DJ’s play a good mix of tracks, mainly Pop, top 40, and some hip-hop. It gets more lively later in the week, try and go here on Friday and Saturday if you want to get the full experience of the place.

• Location: near the entrance on Walking street on the left hand side.
• Crowd: Mostly mature foreign men, mature Thai women, Freelancers and working girls (40%)

Marine Disco

Although now modernized, Marine disco is one of the oldest nightclubs in Pattaya (and biggest).

With a good sound system, and LED screens near the front area. Local and international DJs play mostly EDM and house music.

It is also one of the clubs that stays open pretty late in to the morning.

If you like pool be happy to know that there are quite a few tables where you can play, while still enjoying the nightclub vibes.

Due to its size it is recommended to go during the weekends, so the crowds can fill up the disco properly, thus giving the party-goers the best experience.

Yes it can get loud too, but it doesn’t feel as congested as Walking Street. And the atmosphere is a bit more laid back which some people prefer.

Soi 6

Pattaya’s naughty reputation is party caused by the famous Soi 6 alley.
